Food for Thought…

Never ever drink black coffee especially when you had added 4 teaspoons full of pure black coffee. Otherwise you may end up having a nice little visit to your nearby toilet. If you must have your coffee, it is wiser to have 1/3 coffee and 2/3 milk. That is the safest.

The Eve Before The Exams.

April 25, 2006 · Leave a Comment

So, it’s the day before us year ones sit for our first paper which happens to be Concert Attendance. Seriously, who on earth… Wait. Let’s narrow it down to a much smaller scale. Who in NAFA thought of such an exam??? Isn’t collecting articles, writing comments and listing out all the concerts we had attended, which was what we did last semester, good enough to warrant us at least a pass??? I mean, this semester is short enough, not mentioning all of those portfolios that we had to do, and here we are having a complete alien piece of paper, calling itself an examination paper, that we have to spend our precious time of an hour pondering over words to use. *Sigh…* We students will never be able to comprehend the mindset of our lecturers.

Well, as you may have figured out by now, all of my portfolios are finally done and submitted. I will probably not be seeing them till next semester. Muahahahahahahahah…!! This is the after-effects of rushing through the portfolios.

Saw a cute little scene while I was on the bus to Ms. Lim’s place for PS on Thursday. There was this dog sitting in this cart which was attached to his owner’s scooter. You will hardly find such a vehicle in Singapore. Well, the dog was so cute sitting, with the wind in its hair and it was so guai!

Anyway, I better go off to do some recalling in preparation for tomorrow’s exam. Got to wake up real early and drag myself off to school so as to try out the grand piano in C6.21.

I think I shall change my blog skin after the exams. Maybe sometime next week.

In need of retail therapy.

Well, here is a little apology to my dear distantly-relatedly niece.

So sorry for not mentioning the hard work and lost of sleep you had to go through in the wee hours of tuesday morning. As Juls and I were asleep, I truly did not know you had spent so much time typing at the computer from “2/3 plus till 5 plus”. Gomen ne.

Here is a brief of what happened on wednesday. Enx invited two of her church friends along. The theatre was not pack but about half filled. So, it was not that bad after all.

Finally managed to finish up my history score-reading portfolio on thursday morning. Well, I was suppose to do it on wednesday’s night but fell asleep while waiting for my computer to set up. I woke up four hours later and tried to do some work but, alas, my eyes could not keep themself open and my brain was already on shut down mode even though I went to wash my face. Managed to set my alarm for 6:15am. Woke up to brush my teeth and wash my face before sitting at the computer to do the last piece. So, yay to me.

Examinations are from the 26th of this month to the 2nd of next month. We do not have to sit for a lot of modules this time that is why it will only take the MOE people 4 days to finish their exams. I wonder whether it is the same for those in the performing side. Hmmm… Maybe.

I now have to do finish my harmony corrections, which are due on tuesday, and to rush through the Singapore Art Scenes, Concert Attendance and MoA portfolio by the end of this week. More preferably by the end of Good Friday so that I can go off to M’sia, particularly JB, to get some retail therapy. I am so in need of spending some money.

Speaking of spending money, I bought 2 VCDs and a bracelet from Orchard on friday. I seriously could not take it anymore. Had to go out. Even for a short while. Ironically, I did not spend “a short while” there. It took me quite some time in HMV alone. Ha ha ha! Well, I watched those two “new” VCDs on friday and saturday. Had a whale of a time especially when you are watching “Marrying the Mafia 2″ and “Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe”. :P

Now, I am off to do my toilet before heading off to Victoria Island to kill some snails, mushrooms and green goo.

5th April, 2006. Wednesday.

Has it really been two weeks since I last posted??? TWO WEEKS AND ONE DAY???!!! Oh gosh…

Truthfully, I have been really busy. Especially over the last week. This is very much due to me slacking away as if there is not a tomorrow in this world. Haha! The portfolio is due tomorrow, thursday the 6th, and I have only one left to complete. And God only knows how on earth I am going to get it done. So little resources, so little ideas!!! Arrrrggghhhh…!!!!

Another equally pressing issue is the group’s history presentation later in the morning. We are now discussing, or rather Juls and Char are the ones discussing how is going to present what. Enx and I have out parts sorted out. The past two mondays had seen both Char and I camping over at Juls’ place, just to do this group project thing. This is one horrid essay. I still can not believe we requested to do this. Arrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhh………….!!!!!!!!! Whatever it is, the three of us (Juls, Char and myself) finished the essay yesterday morning, with me finishing the last paragraph at 7.30am. Poor Juls… She was up most of the night typing away at her computer, only hitting the sack at 6+am. That was when she woke me up to get me to continue till the end. Poor girl.

NAFA Chorus and Chamber Choir will be performing at lunchtime later. I wonder how many people will be in the audience, considering the fact that most, and maybe all, students are involve. It will be a lovely sight to behold from the stage. Imagine the empty seats of the theatre, with only four or five occupied by the lecturers from the Music Department. How oddly silent… Let’s see how many people will attend. I doubt that cousin of mine will attend even though I told him about it and even sent him an SMS yester-yesterday.

I shall end off with a little quotation my brother sent me…

“Have no fear of perfection – you’ll never reach it.” – Salvador Dali (Artist)
