No NIE (For Us 5 Only)

August 29, 2006 · Leave a Comment

Well, well, well… What do we have here? 5 people from the Teaching course who are still in NAFA instead of being in NIE. Hahahaha!!!

It so happens we are going to perform at the VCH later in the evening with the Chamber Choir. We have to be there at 6pm and class will only end at 5. So, how are we going to get there within an hour??? Thus, ZQ called Mr. Stead and asked, on all our behalf, for us to be excused from class. And he agreed. THANK YOU MR STEAD!!! So, here we are, back in school, at this hour, going to practice the choir pieces on our own.

Ciao!

Father Barre’s Female Chorus… ???!!! Good Grief!!!

August 26, 2006 · Leave a Comment

Had a little chat with Aini-chan on MSN just now. Actually, it was 2 hours ago. ANYWAY… She told me that Mr Liew, KC’s Choir Instructor/Conductor, is thinking of starting a KC Alumni Choir. And whoever “signs up” now will be part of the Ex-Co of the Father Barre’s Female Chorus.. What a name… -.-” I can not and will not believe it. Must he be that creative??? Good grief! Even my okaasan was laughing away when she happened to be reading over my shoulder. Oh well… If any ex-choir girl of KC happens to be looking this way, spread the word.

Taught my Godma for 2 hours today so as to make up for her “missed” lesson last week even though I did not have to do it since it was she who had to “missed” the lesson. Poor her… Must drink lots of water.

I shall now get ready for Church even though I was suppose to be doing work on the history thing. Haha! Sorry Crybaby. Was a little caught up with other things. Shall do it tomorrow and then we will go to the Esplanade library and look for that extra CD, OK? :P

Chao!

Yes, Crybaby of a Grumpy Cat

August 24, 2006 · Leave a Comment

Right. All I can say is this… History Programme-Notes Assignment was submitted last thursday (hip hip hurray!!!). So , good bye to that and say hello to pairwork and all those essays that we have to prepare. Sigh…

My turn to perform for the Teaching people. I hope I will not fall asleep half-way through Scarlatti’s, at worst, forget the next note. *Crosses fingers* Funny EL. He was the one who wants us all to perform at least 4 times throughout this semester, before the exams. Horrible man.

Did I mention that we, the year 2s, had started our MOE training last tuesday? No? OK. For more details, check out Enx’s blog. Wait. I did!!! You lied to me… How could you??? *angry eyes* Ignore her. She is just being retarded. I shall take over from here while she regains her sane-ness. *stares at neighbour’s dog* Mr Stead brought us around. We were like tourists there. The library at NIE is amazing. The collection of books, especially the music ones, can easily put the ones at NAFA and the National Library to shame. Whatever they do not have, the NIE library will have. HAHA! And they have a little cafe on the library’s second level. Which reminded me of the Marine Parade Community Library, where they had a Startbucks within the library. So, I take it you had regained your sane-ness. Yes and thank you for covering me. You are welcome. Like that place, but it is so far away. I shall probably end up in the hostel there after the NAFA years. Let’s see…

Ok. I better turn in soon or else do those timings otherwise that Crybaby of a Grumpy Cat will become grumpy again if she finds out that I did not do anything. Sigh… Everybody is not in a good mood at all. Stress.

By the way, did any of you, who have relatives who are only a year old or slightly more, notice that these babies/toddlers get highly interested in digital camers, mirrors and anything that reflects their image? My Nat does. Whenever he looks into the sliding-glass door at the balcony and sees his image there, he will start to laugh and be happy about it. The same goes for the digital-cam. What a boy…

History Programme-Notes Essay is a KILLER

August 15, 2006 · Leave a Comment

This is murderous!!! Sigh… History programme-notes essay is due this Thursday during History lecture and there are still so many things to do, such as washing my hair!!! *gasps!* ————

NIE lecture started this afternoon and us 5 had a lovely time sitting in the MRT all the way from Bugis to Boon Lay. That is so far… We then took a bus from the interchange/MRT station in order to get to NIE. Lunched at the NTU canteen before walking to the Music block. We met our seniors (2 years older), they are now studying full-time there, and of course, our course lecturer, Mr P. Stead. We started at 3 and ended an hour later. During that time, we were very much trading stories of our music experience in schools and in life. After that, we went off to check out the library and I can tell you this, their library collection of Music books is impressive. By the time we left, it was already 6:08pm and we had to endure a 20-minutes bus ride back to Boon Lay MRT, and then, for me, another 35 minuets on the MRT to Eunos. By the time I arrived at Eunos, Dad was already waiting for me with the car at the carpark, so that we would attend Assumption mass together… I shall not go on and bore you with the details. So, my dear readers, you all should by now have some inkling as to why I have yet to wash my hair. ——–

I had best have a bath and wash my hair now or else I will fall asleep at this computer. After that, I shall be hardworking and get at least another programme note done. Gambatte, minna-san!!! :)

Happy 41st Birthday, Singapore!!! :)

August 10, 2006 · Leave a Comment

Well, as you all have notice by now, if not, look up at those boxes, those are photos of … FIREWORKS!!! Wheepee!!! Taken last night.

So, yeah. I do not think it is too late to say this.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SINGAPORE!!! YOU ARE 41 YEARS OLD!!!

Ok. Right. I did not do much yesterday except for typing out 6 pages worth of MOA lecture notes for the Schubert’s D596, or is it D965? Or D659? 695? 569? 956? Aargh! Whatever number it is, I typed it out from my own notebook. Just do not ask why I did it. All NAFA Music year 2 students should know the reason why. Anyway, yup, I was typing, played some MapleStory, then helped Mumzy with some preparation for dinner, had a bath, had dinner, took 2 video clips of those fighter jets zooming overhead with my trusty digicam during my dinner, watched the parade on the telly (duh!), then went over to my kor’s place to take photos of the fireworks. The reason why I did not take those photos from where I live is simply because this area is blocked by all those high-rises!!! Aargh!!! So, if I wanted to get a good shot of the fireworks from where I live, I had to run out to the main road. Sigh… Oh well… It was nice. I was refering to the fireworks. And seeing my nephew again. Sigh… *Happy sigh* :)

Right. School is starting again tomorrow *grumbles…* and I am proud to announce that I practised the cornet this morning for half an hour. Unfortunately, I did not practise my piano. Boohoo… :’( Must practise later. Shoots! I am getting confused with which letter to use for practise/practice. Sigh… Looks like I have to revise my English. On one fine day. Haha! This is not good at all. Hahaha!

Term Break.

August 8, 2006 · Leave a Comment

Oh my, oh my… There is so much to talk about, especially about last friday. And so, I shall spend my time blogging while waiting for that baka neko to appear.

Friday, 4th August 2006. Sentosa.
NAFA Sport’s Day!!! How cool could it get? That was so much better than last year’s. And, guess what? Enx, LH, Juls and I participated, quite impromtu I admit, in the Telematch down at Tanjong Beach, and Enx, I and the team, made up of quite a number of guys from the Music Department, got a ‘Second Runner-Up’ medal while the other two got the ‘First Runner-up’. Why could they not, the organisers, just simply put First, Second and Third? That would be so much easier. Anyway, make a guess what Enx said after receiving the medal. You will not believe it, neither did we when we heard it. She said, “In all of my 18 years, this is the first time I got a medal.” And so did Juls. Horrers!!! Oh well… I am quite glad to say this is my third medal I received during a Sport’s Day event; one from primary school, another in secondary and another one here at NAFA. So, you enjoyed yourself tremondously? What do you mean by ‘yourself’? What about you??? And yes, I enjoyed myself tremondously. For more details, check out that baka neko’s blog: http://theextraordinaryme.blogspot.com/

And yes, we took alot of photos (close to a hundred) of the event, the clouds, the beach, the sky and some Peacocks and Peahens. LH took some shots of ships while I was away. It was not that I let him take those shots, it was because I entrusted him to take care of it. Anyway, I have not upload them but am planning to. Came home tanned, a bit sun-burned because I did not apply the sunblock properly, tired, happy and then a bit grouchy due to the horrid bus system which took goodness-knows-how-many minutes to arrive at the busstop. So, that was my friday.

Saturday, 5th August 2006. Home.
Nothing much exciting happened except the usual Weekly Dog-Bathing Event a.k.a Yukie’s bath, piano practising and then teaching Godma the piano. However, I went out to Parco Bugis to meet Manda, Wen, Ching, Jenn and Jas to celebrate Manda’s birthday at Swenson’s. After that, we walked about Parco. We, especially Manda, had some fun ‘dressing-up’ Ching by making her try on different clothes. It became sort of a parade. And then it was my turn. Well, sort of but they could not. Muahahahaha!!! I had to dissappear at 5pm to get myself to church. However, as I was feeling hungry, I went off to Cold Storage to get myself a pack of sushi. Went off to the cashier’s and found the line quite long, or rather, time consuming. Whatever it was, I got myself to church by 6 and Mum was asking what took me so long. Heehee! Could not tell her about my trip to Cold Storage, could I? ;)

Sunday, 6th August 2006. Home.
As usual, nothing much happened. Went to teach at Balestier and had to say ‘good-bye’ to my little student as her grandmother wanted to withdraw her as they stay rather far away i.e in Jurong. So, I am left with one student on Sunday. At least she is better than nothing. Went off for lunch with the parents after that and then off to Sheng Siong to do some marketing with Mumzy. Got home and got onto the internet to check out the airfares to Melbourne and also to find out about the Australian visa. In the end, we bought the tickets online, which I will be collecting later at Clemancaue Ave, and also applied for the visas. So, yup, I have to study hard for me exams and pass all so that I will not have to worry about resitting any of the exams. *Cross fingers!*

Enx is already here. Actually, she has been here about an hour now but is doing her own research for her programme-notes assignment which reminds me that this assignment is due next thursday!!! Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!! Oh dear…

Did I mention that us four girls and ZQ went for Sushi buffet last thursday? No? No. Oh. Well, we did simply because to satisfy Juls craving and also as a way to celebrate the completion of our Analysis assignment (I felt that mine was not done well, but, heck!). Enx wanted to buy a belt from Bugis Street but because of us all feeling tired and lethargic, we head back to school where we found a studio. I ended up sleeping on the floor. Juls came in about an hour later as she had a dental appointment nearby and slept on the floor too. (We switched off the lights.)

I went to the Marine Parade Community Library to check out some travel guides on Melbourne and Australia, and went away with 3 thick books. My library limit has been used up to the brim. After that, Dad and I went to visit, as Mumzy calls him, “that little monster” and was nearly bitten by him quite a few times on my shoulder and then on my shorts. This “little monster” is already on the way to being 16 months old and is running around like nobody’s business. Took a few photos of him and showed him his face which he found amusing. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is my nephew.

As for today, I went for my early morning piano class at Ms Lim’s and learned more about the muscles in my body, especially in the arms, shoulders and lower body. How fasinating… “Must relax your muscles…” so says Ms Lim.

Well, that is all for now. Have to start on the history pairwork soon. Toodles!
