Christmas Eve

December 24, 2006 · Leave a Comment

It’s already Christmas Eve! Yay!!! My presents from friends have been in for a few days now. Even the new Josh Groban CD my kor bought for me Christmas present has been in for a few weeks now. Cannot wait to open it. :)

The family will be heading down to my uncle’s later for dinner instead of having it as usual; on Christmas Day itself. Well, the party organisers decided to change the time so what can we do about it… And I was suppose to have a nap… Yawn…

I am totally looking forward to Boxing Day. Firstly, there will be an Ahma_N_Co. gathering at Mandy’s and then I will be traveling north to join the Gangsters at Juls’ in Bishan. Happy! :D

Most of NAFA’s Yr. 2s attended GTC’s concert at the VCH on thursday and I met my old school choir conductor! Mr. Liew still looks young. What am I saying? It sounds like I did not see him for years when it was only two years ago. Wow… Time really flies… Anyway, GTC’s concert was cool especially where the two choirs, Amadeus Choir and Victoria Chorale, sang ‘Silent Night’, the very same piece which the NAFA Chorus could not come close to perfecting it. Such shame… I agree with Neko. This has something to do with size. The bigger the group, the harder it will be to coordinate the singing.

I am now on two weeks of Christmas vacation and during these two weeks, I have a lot of reading to do for the History assignment(s) and presentation, for the Choral Direction & Training (CDT) assignment and presentation, and to practise hard, with memorisation, on the piano. So much to do… Sigh…

There is a shower of rain right now. Well, at least this is a thousand times better than what happened on tuesday, where it rained day and night, resulting in a flooding in the Bukit Timah/Thomson Road area and the overspilling of the reservoirs in that area. Thank God there was not any floodings over in the east.

Alright. I think I shall go play Maplestory as it was a long time I was there.

To everyone;

Have a …

Merry and Blessed Christmas

and a

Fruitful and Peaceful New Year!!!

God Bless. :)

INSTALLING LOVE

December 19, 2006 · Leave a Comment

Tech Support: Yes, … how can I help you?

Customer: Well, after much consideration, I’ve decided to install Love. Can you guide me though the process?

Tech Support: Yes. I can help you. Are you ready to proceed?

Customer: Well, I’m not very technical, but I think I’m ready. What do I do first?

Tech Support: The first step is to open your Heart. Have you located your Heart?

Customer: Yes, but there are several other programs running now. Is it okay to install Love while they are running?

Tech Support: What programs are running?

Customer: Let’s see, I have Past Hurt, Low Self-Esteem, Grudge and Resentment running right now

Tech Support: No problem, Love will gradually erase Past Hurt from your current operating system. It may remain in your permanent memory but it will no longer disrupt other programs. Love will eventually override Low Self-Esteem with a module of its own called High Self-Esteem. However, you have to completely turn off Grudge and Resentment. Those programs prevent Love from being properly installed. Can you turn those off?

Customer: I don’t know how to turn them off. Can you tell me how?

Tech Support: With pleasure. Go to your start menu and invoke Forgiveness. Do this as many times as necessary until Grudge and Resentment have been completely erased.

Customer: Okay, done! Love has started installing itself. Is that normal?

Tech Support: Yes, but remember that you have only the base program. You need to begin connecting to other Hearts in order to get the upgrades.

Customer: Oops! I have an error message already. It says, “Error – Program not run on external components .” What should I do?

Tech Support: Don’t worry. It means that the Love program is set up to run on Internal Hearts, but has not yet been run on your Heart. In non-technical terms, it simply means you have to Love yourself before you can Love others.

Customer: So, what should I do?

Tech Support: Pull down Self-Acceptance; then click on the following files: Forgive-Self; Realize Your Worth; and Acknowledge your Limitations.

Customer: Okay, done.

Tech Support: Now, copy them to the “My Heart” directory. The system will overwrite any conflicting files and begin patching faulty programming. Also, you need to delete Verbose Self-Criticism from all directories and empty your Recycle Bin to make sure it is completely gone and never comes back.

Customer: Got it. Hey! My heart is filling up with new files. Smile is playing on my monitor and Peace and Contentment are copying themselves all over My Heart. Is this normal?

Tech Support: Sometimes. For others it takes awhile, but eventually everything gets it at the proper time. So Love is installed and running. One more thing before we hang up. Love is Freeware. Be sure to give it and its various modules to everyone you meet. They will in turn share it with others and return some cool modules back to you.

Customer: Thank you, God.

NAIL IN THE FENCE

December 19, 2006 · Leave a Comment

Make sure you read all the way down to the last sentence. (Most importantly the last sentence.)
There once was a little boy who had a bad temper. His Father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper, he must hammer a nail into the back of the fence.

The first day the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence. Over the next few weeks, as he learned to control his anger, the number of nails hammered daily gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence. Finally the day came when the boy didn’t lose his temper at all. He told his father about it and the father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper.

The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone. The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence. He said, “You have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same. When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one. You can put a knife in a man and draw it out. It won’t matter how many times you say I’m sorry, the wound is still there. ” A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one. Friends are very rare jewels, indeed. They make you smile and encourage you to succeed. They lend an ear, they share words of praise and they always want to open their hearts to us.”

Show your friends how much you care. Send this to everyone you consider a FRIEND, even if it means sending it back to the person who sent it to you. If it comes back to you, then you’ll know you have a circle of friends.

YOU ARE MY FRIEND AND I AM HONORED!

Now send this to every friend you have!! And to your family. Please forgive me if I have ever left a hole.

6 Days to Christmas

December 19, 2006 · Leave a Comment

Hello. I know I did not blog for 2 over weeks now, so please excuse me until the holidays are over and the kids have gone back to school. There is a problem with my internet connection which problem, I believe, lies with the heavy usage of the I.P. So there.

Yes. It is that time of year where commercialism rules under the pretext of A Season of Giving. Well, it is true that Christmas is the time where the giving is more important than receiving, but that does not mean that the recipient does n0t accept the thoughtfulness of the giver *glares at certain BOY*. The lights and decorations along Orchard Road were up since mid-November but I feel that it is all not very pretty. Something is missing. Hmmm…

So, it had been eventful for the past days (can not say ”past few days” as it has been more than a few days). I enjoyed yesterday’s events. We did carolling in the NAFA library instead of having the Christmas concert tonight, which is, sadly, cancelled due to “Unforseen circumstances”. It was fun. Chamber Choir went onto the platform first (yes, there is a wooden platform in a corner of the library). When it came to the Chorus’ turn, all of us had to squeeze into that small area. Whatever it was, we all had fun.

After that, we, us 4 girls and ZQ, went for lunch at a coffee-shop in between Campuses 1 & 2. It is a new place which we had never eaten at before. We went back to school for piano performance class (I have to play on the 8th of January). After one hour, Neko accompanied me to Beads Hub to get some beads, naturally. They are having a 30% discount. What I bought yesterday should amount to $9.10 on a usual day, because of the discount, I spent $3-odd less. Maybe I shall go there again later. Haha!

Right. I am feeling tired now even though I had about 8 hours of sleep.

Anaemic. Damn.

Three

December 6, 2006 · Leave a Comment

I am happy. Well, sort of. Actually, it is a post-Monday effect. If you had read Juls’ blog, we five, four girls and a guy, went to watch Three, a chorus concert put up by three different choirs from three different countries; namely Singapore, Japan and the Philippines, at the Esplanade on Monday night. I must add that it was the first time we skipped Commuter Concert. Woohoo!!! It was good. No. Good is an understatement. It was faboulous. The three choirs performed three combined works. One by our NAFA’s very own Americ Goh, another by Ko Matsushita and the last one was commissioned for this concert. I agree with Juls that the Singapore Chorus choice of pieces were rather … hmmm …. I shall leave that blank. But the other two were incredible. The Japanese choir sang their conductor’s, Ko Matsushita’s, works and they were all very catchy and fun pieces. I really like their last piece, ‘Shinjuru’ or ‘Believe’ in Japanese. It was really moving. I shall use this same word to describe the Philippines’ repertoire, which comprised of sacred, secular/folk and pop music. I really like their ‘I Believe’ piece, taken from the Roman Catholic’s the Apostles Creed, which caused me to have a sense of pride while hearing it. I do not know why but that was what I felt. After the concert ended, I went out to the Japanese and the Philippines booths and bought from them a CD each. The feeling I got while listening to the CDs simply can not replace the feeling that I got while being in the concert hall during the actual performance. All I could feel was satisfaction. I do not regret spending $20 on the ticket. Sigh… It was so beautiful… More sighs…

Right then. I best return to my composition, which is due tomorrow. :s

Ciao! :)

Dedication….

December 4, 2006 · Leave a Comment

Right. This entry is dedicated to The Baka Neko who is right now sitting infront of me, talking to her lover and who was nagging at me for not updating this blog.

I am now sitting in the NAFA Library, supposedly doing composition of 16 bars but not doing so. Simply can not get any ideas or inspiration to compose. Sigh…

I finally finished watching ‘My Lovely Samsoon’ last night/this early morning and I was rather disappointed at the ending. The whole story plot is interesting, as in it deals with ‘a very modern day woman’s problem’, i.e. being a plumpish 30 years old who is looking for love desperately and finally found it in a guy who is 3 years her junior. So… what do you all think about such a situation? I do not think I will ever do what she, Sam Soon, did because I will probably give up on ever finding love and become an old spinster.

It is nice to dream… Yup.

Did I mention that my parents are finally home??? No? Alright then. I just did. Yayyyyy!!! New clothes to wear!!! Lalala… :P

Alright. I am going back to do some work, hopefully.

Tally-ho!
