Day 14: 10 Dec 2015, Thurs, Nikko

Another day in Nikko and we are continuing with really making full use of our pass. This time, we will be using the trains.

Had train station packed lunches, or eki-ben. There are a few types, with various prices, available at the little convenience stall at the Tobu Nikko Station. The second photo, the bento with the special label, is marketed as a Nikko speciality.

So, off we go on our train rides. Rode to the furthest limit on our ticket, which is Shin-Fujiwara. After that, if you want to travel any further, you would have to add on the fare at the ticket gate with the station staff.

There is this special train that brings you up to the gorge, which is a station away.

We stopped at Kinugawa-Onsen Station. This place is primarily an onsen town and enjoyed a free foot bath just outside the station! Look for the little hut/gazebo on the right side after exiting the station. It’s next to the clock.

Took a little walk up the road and came to this part leading down to a bridge crossing the river. Pretty artistic for a bridge.

On a totally unrelated note, it has been 8 years since I started blogging with WordPress.com. Happy 8th anniversary! ๐Ÿ˜€
